Harvard University IT (HUIT) needed a Project Manager with a Broad and Deep Technical background to assist is the Shutdown of a number of Data Centers and the consolidation of service into 2 primary datacenters. Understanding of Application and infrastructure dependencies and the ability to communicate with School and IT executives as well as manage a diverse set of Technical resources was a key requirement of the position. The 3-6-month engagement was extended to 3 years and expanded to include major Migrations of 30,000 users to MS O365 and establishing O365 Single Tenant configuration as central email and collaboration platform for Harvard Undergrad Schools and the Medical School (10,000 additional users), Law School (3500 additional users) and the Kennedy School (2300 Additional users).
"Intellitech provided Project Management skills to manage the Data Center Consolidation efforts. In addition, our Technical Architects mapped out all server dependencies and Networking infrastructure to ease the consolidation process. We created new standards for support escalation and server provisioning. In addition, we worked with HUIT on a framework for moving applications and Servers to Cloud services utilizing AWS and thereby reducing the overall infrastructure footprint.
As part of the Office 365 Project, we defined the Multi-Tenant configuration. Worked with the various schools to determine the best Hybrid architecture that gave them each control over their domains while allowing for cross communications between each environment for members of each school. Managed and coordinated the Federation of multiple Domains across the tenant and facilitated the rollout of Office 365 to Harvard Undergrad. Created a user portal to educate the students, faculty and staff on the new Office 365 features and policies."
MassHousing had their public facing websites (in multiple languages) and their partner Extranet sites running on the PeachTree Portal that was purchased by Oracle and had reached the end-of-life so was no longer supported. The platform was very outdated, yet was so integrated into the backend infrastructure of the organization that it was difficult to replace. However due to the lack of support and the security risks, MassHousing needed and update Portal solution.
Intellitech developed and licensed to MassHousing the iTech Portal Framework. This custom Content Management System, which ran on the Microsoft .NET technology stack, provided MassHousing with equal or superior functionality but on a secure and up to date platform. Some features include: Contemporary and Responsive design, Drag and Drop creation of Pages. Multi-Language support. Ease of administration without coding. Integration with backend legacy systems and databases so that no functionality was loss in the transition to the new platform.
McCormick was running on Lotus Notes as their email platform and rather than move to Exchange online, they wanted to go straight to the cloud. Therefore, they needed an experienced Project Manager with proven experience in migrating large organizations (over 11,000 employee) to Office 365 and an extensive technical background. Their global infrastructure was outdated and the move to cloud based services would require extensive updates to the Wide Area Network, Data Compression and Proxy options.
Utilizing their relationship with Microsoft and experience in large scale migrations to Office 365, Intellitech managed the migration process for Office 365. As part of that effort we established the Hybrid environment between Office 365 Exchange and Lotus Notes, Mapped out the Global Network Architecture, Facilitated updates to global infrastructure and DNS resolution framework to better accommodate cloud based email. Developed a roadmap for conversion of legacy platforms to the Office 365 Equivalents for document management (SharePoint), personal file storage (OneDrive), Authentication and Single Signon (ADFS), and personal messaging/video conferencing (Skype for Business). Making Office 365 the default collaboration platform for the Enterprise.
